Bonjour de Paris!

Bonjour! No pictures here...too busy running around Paris! (Okay well not really. I've been too busy to actually run. But I've been walking so much my feet feel like they've done the HURT100 each night and my calves are one massive cramp in the morning). But I wanted to reassure you that I've still alive and haven't been captured a la the movie Taken (which all my friends and family warned me about before I left).

Paris is wonderful. I'm quickly learning the benefits of traveling by yourself. I have briskly traveled by foot across this whole city multiple times, and can decide where to go and how long to spend in each location.  I quickly pass through the tourist areas and spend more time in hidden gems.  Yesterday I successfully ordered my morning bread without the clerk switching to English! Major score. Highlights of my trip include going to Mass on New Years morning at Notre Dame, finding a thrift store (and cute jacket) in the Marais section, seeing the Stein exhibition at the Grand Palais, and seeing the skyline of Paris with an espresso with fellow twitter friend @CasparV. Today is my last day and I'm braving the crowds at the Louvre. I'm not really motivated to see the Mona Lisa, but am more interested in the sculptures. But I'm sure I'll pop by the Mona Lisa just to say hi.

The one thing I've noticed about Paris is that is must be the world capital for making out. There are people of all ages making out in the parks, in phone booths, on the street....there was even an 80 year old couple making out on the subway! Rock on, grandpa!

Tomorrow it's off to Copenhagen! I'll get to explore that city for two days before I head back to Hawaii on Friday. I am loving all this travel but am definitely getting weary and am ready to return home.  A whole month living out of a suitcase and going from place to place is very tiresome. I don't know if it's the lack of water or lack of proper nutrition or lack of sleep (or all three), but I look five years older and generally feel like junk. It will be nice to return to my normal routine (and hopefully look my age again!).

Okay, what am I doing still writing? Off to the Louvre! Au revoir!
