Burning the candle...

My fingers are burned from trying to hold onto the candle I've been burning at both ends. Things have been more insane than I ever imagined. Yet somehow, I'm getting it all done. I submitted two manuscripts on Friday after my flat disaster thwarted my long ride attempt. Sunday after double flatting and walking back to the car I finished my ride with 5 hrs and 20 mins on the trainer (yes, it was pure hell. I wouldn't recommend it). I finished my brick with minutes to spare and headed out for a date (!) with compression gear hiding under my dress. This morning I finally, finally submitted my insane grant proposal. It's so nice to have that off my shoulders. I rewarded myself with a kick ass 4hr brick.

Ironman Florida is less than three weeks away and I can't believe it. I feel like things are finally coming together. My massage ninja was trying to tell me some Brazilian quote about potatoes being cooked and how it relates to this phase of my training. I certainly feel like an overcooked potato but I feel strong and found my confidence. My coach is really pushing me, but I have just 6 more days to power through before things start winding down for the race. I've still got a lot of candles to burn before Nov 5, but I've got a book of matches ready to strike.

(if this post looks/sounds weird it's because I'm testing out a new blogger app for my phone. Apologies if it's screwy)
