  1. Well, Hawaii looks like the winner, but my state has got to be in the top five.

    Go Oregon!

  2. We're the lowest! Not really surprising for coastal California, though...how could you not want to get out there with the amazing weather we have!?

  3. Both home (Seattle) and current residence (San Diego) are doing pretty good.

  4. I think we may just have missed the highest inactivity level in my county. Hey, at least Mississippi is at the top of some list. Have I mentioned I don't love it here and don't fit in at all?

  5. My county isn't included. Hell, my whole country isn't included. Humphf.

  6. I read somewhere about a year ago that 60% of people do absolutely no physical activity whatsoever. Scary! I'm glad I'm in the other 40%.

  7. I'm now in CA (nothing to laugh at with the color along the coast), but my home state of MN is making me proud right now! :)

  8. San Francisco is one of the most active cities in the country. I'm so lucky to live here, even when it rains.

  9. Atlanta is helping bring up the state average....can't say much for Alabama & Mississippi...

  10. Such scary statistics! I am working in the policy world to increase opportunities for kids to eat healthy and be active....the statistics on kids are also pretty unfortunate :( But its getting better!

    Have a great day!

  13. I live in NW NC right in the light spot which strangely gets very dark when crossing into TN... I always feel less healthy when driving over that state line...

  14. Totally read it '% of active' and was thoroughly confused!

  15. Look at Colorado standing out there in the middle. It's almost entirely light yellow probably mostly due to me and my influence.

  16. That seems really weird to me....the Pacific NW is full of active people who hike, bike and do all sorts of physical activities....??

  18. Interesting, as I'm in a solid block of 20-24%. But I live in a college town, so that really throws my town out of the norm for the region.

  19. No wonder I place as well as I do in races here in Oklahoma!

  20. Woohoo!!! I appear to live in one of the more active areas of Wisconsin!

  21. I'm confused. West Virginia is one of the fattest states in the country... this is saying they are pretty active. I don't believe it. And why is the west coast so lazy according to this map?????

  23. Let's see Hawaii, No. 1 seems to makes sense, Minnesota, looks like No. 2, now that's something to think about.
